Christina Faedo RPC-C

Founder & Clinical Director

Christina is a Registered Professional Counsellor Candidate (RPC-C) with the Canadian Professional Counselling Association (#4321), and a registered member of the Association of Traumatic Stress Specialists. She has been in the world of first responders since 2007. She spent over 14 years as a police dispatcher for multiple municipalities in the lower mainland and over ten volunteering & working within police-based victim services. In 2019 she was burnt out and exhausted from the job she once found fun and exciting. She took the Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) course at the JIBC and found a spark there to help others outside the realm of dispatching. She wanted to support those she saw struggling with their mental health and took a chance in 2020 by going back to school for counselling. Hoping to be able to further support both first responders, dispatchers as well as victims of crime and trauma has focused her training on modalities that help clients work through all types of trauma. Christina utilized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotions Focused Therapy and she frames her work from a Person-Centered, Trauma-Informed lens.

Charlette Hendricks, RTC-c

Counsellor

Charlette is a Registered Therapeutic Counselling Candidate (RTCc) with ACCT (#3428).

For as long as I can remember I have always been drawn to helping and being of service to others and our animal companions. I am a Stepping Stones IFS-informed therapist and hold my Level II Reiki practitioner certification. I was employed in the healthcare sector for over a decade where she worked as a Nursing Unit Clerk in many areas. I was particularly drawn to the healthcare field because of a severe and rare health issue I had experienced when I was younger. Over time I found my life was leading towards a career in counselling. I believe healing can come in many different forms and I aim to help clients see that light can be found beyond whatever darkness they are currently experiencing.

I aim to provide compassion and warmth to all interactions by honoring the human spirit and each individual’s unique life story. This space allows clients the opportunity to share the deepest whisperings of their hearts.

Through employing a variety of integrative and eclectic approaches, I utilize tools and techniques that allow her to meet each client where they are presently at. I lean into internal family systems, narrative therapy, person-centered, solution-focused, emotions focused and strengths-based modalities to help a variety of individuals such as teens and adults.

Jessa Turner, RPC-c

Jessa is a RPC-c with the CPCA (#4638)

Are you finding difficulties in relationships, your professional life, raising children or perhaps just every day functioning? Are you faced with things from perhaps your past experiences that seem to direct you in your emotions and behaviours in life today?

Counselling can help be the answer to getting to where you'd like these challenges to go and with a trusted confidante alongside you, your journey to healing can feel safer over time and less alone.

Jessa had long before been involved in mental health through advocacy and volunteering within the communities before working as mental health worker at Riverview and as admin within Outpatient Psychiatry in Fraser Health. Having taken a bit of a step back from the clinical aspect of the profession in healthcare to open her time up more for counselling much more aligns what she is passionate about: Walking alongside and supporting clients in their journey to mental wellness.

Jessa also acts as a contracted Designated Representative with the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada, this involves being appointed for persons appearing before the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada who cannot understand the proceedings due to mental health challenges/mental illness or who are minors. This is a role she takes high value in as well, ensuring the best needs are met for those she's appointed for.

Her educational credentials are a result of my desire to work as a counsellor since she was a teen. Her understanding of hope comes from a journey which has helped shape the compassion, understanding and authenticity she carries through the counselling sessions and beyond.

In her work, she uses a person-centered and trauma- informed approach while working with/drawing from different modalities: Narrative Therapy, CBT, DBT and Attachment Based Therapy.

Melanie DiMenna

Melanie is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with BCACC #23151.

My name is Melanie, and I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UBC. I work with individuals, couples, and families to navigate relational concerns using evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches. I am certified in both the Gottman Method for couples and Solution-Focused Therapy. Before becoming a counsellor, I worked as a Personal Trainer, focusing on helping people achieve their health and fitness goals, particularly in healthy ageing.

I also draw from personal experiences that have given me valuable insights into resilience and healing. These experiences allow me to empathize deeply with clients who bring their unique life challenges to counselling. In therapy, I view our work as a shared journey: you steer the ship, and I am here as your guide, helping navigate toward your goals. Together, we’ll explore the challenges and obstacles that may be keeping you from the life you desire. Most importantly, I invite you to come as you are, as I believe that being fully present in this moment is the foundation for meaningful transformation.

VIRTUAL THERAPY

Logan Wirtz, RTCc

Logan is a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor Candidate (RTCc) with the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists, membership #3004.

For as long as I can remember, I've been drawn to helping others, whether it’s a friend in need or working in a supportive profession. My fascination with the social sciences, especially the psychology behind how our brains form and break habits, has always fascinated me. Through my therapeutic journey, I found empowerment and self-realization. Embracing personal growth led me to pursue a career in counselling therapy. I've experienced firsthand the profound benefits of therapy, and I'm dedicated to offering that same support and service to others on their paths to healing and growth.

In my approach to therapy, I strive to create a space filled with warmth, acceptance, and empathy. I believe that genuine connection and understanding form the cornerstone of effective therapy. To this end, I integrate a blend of narrative and cognitive therapeutic frameworks. By employing narrative techniques, I help clients explore and reframe their life stories, empowering them to find new meanings and perspectives. Simultaneously, cognitive approaches enable us to identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, fostering healthier ways of thinking and coping. This integration allows me to meet clients where they are, providing a compassionate and non-judgmental environment where they can openly share their experiences and emotions. It’s about more than just addressing symptoms; it’s about understanding the person as a whole and working together to build resilience and a sense of agency.

My journey began with a volunteer position at a national crisis line. This role gave me valuable experience supporting those in need and deeply touched me with the many stories and struggles so many people are going through. While this work was incredibly important, I felt a strong desire to provide more holistic and long-term support. This motivated me to further my education and knowledge. Today, I’m proud to be a member of the Association of Cooperative Counselling and have begun developing my niche and therapeutic focus. Working with individuals who are experiencing different challenges, I've found my work shines with those struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, neurodiversity, self-harm, and interpersonal challenges.

HUMAN DESIGN

Paula Giroday

Hello, I was born and raised in Vancouver B.C and now I reside in beautiful Powell River BC with my husband and two sons. Having studied acting for most of my life, I have always had a fascination with the energy exchanges between people and how authenticity and a strong sense of self-awareness can help you get into the driver’s seat of your own life. Human design is a fun and fascinating way to explore the way your unique energy can support you in your authenticity. Human Design readings blend astrology, the I Ching, Kabbalah, and the chakra system to reveal a person's unique energy type and life purpose. By identifying strengths and decision-making strategies, these readings help individuals live more authentically. The system categorizes people into types like Manifestor, Generator, Projector, or Reflector to guide relationships and personal growth. I truly look forward to connecting with you. If you have any questions at all, please reach out.
